Why do I need both ELDT and a permit test study tool?+
ELDT is federally mandated training that covers the content areas on the CDL permit test, but it is not the permit test itself. The South Dakota Department of Public Safety — Driver Licensing (SD DPS) administers a separate knowledge test for your Commercial Learner's Permit (CLP).
