New Mexico Hazmat ELDT – FMCSA-Approved Online Training

Hazmat ELDT is the mandatory entry-level training required by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) before you can take the Hazmat knowledge test at the NM MVD. You need it to qualify for the H endorsement, which is required to transport hazardous materials. The only exemption is if you already had a CDL with a Hazmat endorsement before February 7, 2022—those licenses are grandfathered. Upgrades and new endorsements still require ELDT.

After completing Hazmat ELDT with DLA Academy, you'll have proof of completion. Take that to the New Mexico Motor Vehicle Division (NM MVD) office, apply for the H endorsement on your CDL, and take the Hazmat knowledge test.
