Once you complete the CDL-B Theory ELDT with DLA Academy, your completion is automatically submitted to the FMCSA Training Provider Registry within 24 hours. The NH DMV queries that registry to verify you've completed FMCSA-approved ELDT before you're allowed to sit for the skills test. You'll still need to pass the written knowledge test (which covers general knowledge, air brakes, and combination vehicles) and then schedule and pass the Class B CDL skills test at an approved testing site.

If you already hold a valid Class B CDL issued before February 7, 2022, you're grandfathered out of the ELDT requirement. You don't need to take it again. However, if you're upgrading to a different license class or adding an endorsement (Hazmat, Passenger, or School Bus), you'll need ELDT for that new class or endorsement — grandfathering only applies to your existing license.
