If your CDL was issued before February 7, 2022, you're grandfathered and don't need ELDT for that license. However, if you're upgrading from Class B to Class A, or adding a new endorsement (Hazmat, Passenger, or School Bus), you'll need ELDT for the upgrade or endorsement — grandfathering doesn't cover new classes or endorsements.
